Monthly allowances apply in Fast mode, per device and calendar month (UTC). Each speech recognition and each answer read aloud counts as a voice input. Keyword search and Private mode have no monthly limit. For search by meaning, our AI service prepares text for about 8,000 documents per device and month, ten times as much with Premium and Business; the rest follows the next month.

FilesPal finds Social Security numbers, bank account numbers and dates of birth on your PC. You choose what goes black; it’s removed for good, not just covered. The original stays unchanged.

Do my documents leave my PC?
Your files and search index stay on your PC or in the folders you’ve added. In Fast mode, AI features send document content, questions and voice recordings over an encrypted connection through filespal.com to Anthropic, OpenAI or, for voice, Mistral AI, including in the USA. We and these providers keep content only for limited periods and don’t use it for training. In Private mode, AI and speech recognition run on your PC. Phone scans, the inbox address and Outlook still go through our server when you use them. See our Privacy Policy.
What does FilesPal cost?
FilesPal is free for personal use, with 100 documents, 300 AI answers and 500 voice inputs per device per month. Premium costs $9.99 a month for one person on up to three devices, with 5,000 documents, 10,000 AI answers and 5,000 voice inputs per device per month. Answers read aloud count as voice inputs. Keyword search and Private mode are unlimited. Businesses can use FilesPal free for 30 days; the trial never turns into a paid subscription. Business costs $15 per user per month, less from 50 users. Prices are plus applicable sales tax. You can get a refund within 14 days on your first paid plan, minus any use beyond the Free allowances. See Pricing.
Which scanners work?
Scanners and multifunction printers with a Windows driver (WIA or 64-bit TWAIN), and network devices that scan without a driver (AirScan or Mopria, also called eSCL). You can also scan with your phone’s camera, without installing an app.
Does it learn how I file?
Yes. When you file a document somewhere other than suggested, FilesPal tells you what it learned, for example “Cascade Power & Light → Utilities”, and suggests it next time. Undo it right there, or later under Rules › Learned.
Does it work offline?
Yes, in Private mode: AI and speech recognition run on your PC once the models are downloaded. Phone scans, the inbox address and Outlook need the internet, and so do updates and occasional license checks.
How do we roll out FilesPal to the team?
Anyone can install FilesPal without administrator rights. IT can also deploy it silently with a license and set the AI mode through Group Policy or Intune. Learn more on our Business page.
How do I cancel?
Cancel anytime, without logging in, on our cancellation page or by email. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for. A yearly Premium subscription past its first year ends one month after we receive your cancellation at the latest, and we refund the prepaid remainder pro rata.
Is FilesPal available for Mac?
An older Mac version is available on the Pricing page. Everything described here refers to the Windows app.
